Emergency Dentist in Bedale
Toothache can be distressing, and we understand you’ll want it treated as soon as possible. At Bedale Dental Practice, we reserve emergency slots daily to accommodate urgent dental problems so we can help you feel better fast.
Call 01677 422865 as early as possible to book your emergency appointment.
If you can’t get through by phone, use our online form to submit your concern. One of our dentists will triage your issue and a member of our team will be in touch.
Please note: Due to demand, you may be seen by a different dentist depending on availability. If you request your usual dentist, there may be a short delay.
We welcome non-registered patients where possible. If you’re not a current patient, please contact us to check emergency appointment availability.
What Is a Dental Emergency?
If you're experiencing any of the following, call us immediately, or dial NHS 111 if we are closed:
-
Facial trauma, including lacerations or knocked-out teeth
-
Large or rapidly spreading facial swelling
-
Bleeding after an extraction that won’t stop with pressure
-
A dental infection causing fever or systemic illness
-
Inability to open your mouth properly (trismus)
These conditions can become life-threatening and require immediate attention.
Urgent Dental Problems
The following symptoms need prompt attention. We aim to see you within 24 hours.
- Severe dental pain not relieved by painkillers
- Dental abscess without facial swelling or fever
- Fractured teeth with exposed nerves
- Broken restorations causing sharp pain or difficulty eating
Call us during opening hours, or contact NHS 111 if we’re closed. You may be referred to an out-of-hours dental centre.
Routine Dental Problems
These issues are less urgent but still need attention. We aim to see you within 7 days:
- Mild to moderate toothache, manageable with pain relief
- Lost fillings or crowns without severe pain
- Broken or loose dentures
- Bleeding or sore gums (gingivitis or periodontitis)
- Bleeding after an extraction that settles with pressure
While uncomfortable, these issues typically do not require immediate out-of-hours care.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
We reserve daily emergency slots. Call as early as possible to secure one.
Do I need to be a registered patient?
Not necessarily. We prioritise our registered patients but may have availability for new patients—please call to check.
What should I do if I knock out a tooth?
Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root and call us immediately.
What if I have facial swelling and the clinic is closed?
Call NHS 111 or go to your nearest A&E. Swelling that affects breathing or vision can be life-threatening.
